Frequently Asked Questions

A relational guide is a practitioner whose primary method is relationship itself — holding space with attuned presence rather than directing the work or prescribing solutions. Instead of giving advice or setting goals, I support the conditions for your own wisdom to surface, and reflect it back to you until it's clear and strong enough to lead. The work draws on parts-based inner exploration (Internal Family Systems) and somatic nervous-system practice (Organic Intelligence®).

An earth-based practitioner works in relationship with the natural world — the plants, the elements, the cycles — as part of the work. In my practice, this means engaging with plants as living beings with their own intelligence, not as substances to consume. Plants become teachers, mirrors, and companions for clients drawn to that dimension of the work. Earth-based practice is invitational, woven in for those who want it, and not required.
-
Therapy is licensed clinical work focused on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. My work is non-clinical relational practice — I'm not licensed as a therapist and I don't diagnose, treat, or work with mental illness. Many clients work with both a therapist and a practitioner like me; the two serve different purposes. If you need clinical support, I'll refer you to a therapist.

Most coaching is goal-driven and prescriptive — the coach asks questions to help you reach a defined outcome. My work is slower, more relational, and more contemplative. I don't direct the work; I hold space for what's already moving in you to become clearer. I sometimes describe what I do as ritual or practice rather than coaching, because the register and intention are different — though the one-on-one format will feel familiar to anyone who has worked with a coach.

Internal Family Systems is a contemporary therapeutic and developmental modality that works with the natural multiplicity of the psyche — the idea that we all have inner parts (a perfectionist, a critic, a protector, a wounded younger self) that organize our experience. The work helps you build a relationship with these parts rather than fighting or suppressing them. I use IFS-informed methods alongside nervous-system and earth-based practice.

Organic Intelligence® is a somatic, nervous-system-based approach developed by Steve Hoskinson. It works with the body's natural capacity for regulation and integration, using slow attention to body sensations and natural rhythms rather than top-down intervention. I'm a certified Organic Intelligence® Coach and weave these practices into the work.

I work with plants as a relational practice — engaging with plants as living beings with their own intelligence, not as substances to consume. Plants become teachers, mirrors, and companions in the work. This is different from ceremonial entheogen facilitation (such as ayahuasca or psilocybin work), which I don't offer. Plant relationship practice is invitational — woven in for clients drawn to it, and not required.

I'm based in Evergreen, Colorado, and I work with clients virtually anywhere in the world. Sessions happen over video. For local clients, occasional in-person work may be available depending on the project.

Most working relationships unfold over several months. We begin with an Intro Call to see if the fit is right, then design a working rhythm together — typically weekly or biweekly sessions. There's no fixed program length; the work continues as long as it's serving the client.

I'm a licensed attorney with over two decades of practice, alongside more than twenty years of work with earth-based and plant medicine traditions. I'm trained in Internal Family Systems and certified in Organic Intelligence®. My practice weaves these threads together — the practical and the intuitive, structure and depth.

The first step is an Intro Call — a real conversation, no pressure, to see if the fit is right. If we decide to work together, we'll design the rhythm and structure that fits your needs.
